About the event

Divisions of Competition

2.1 General

Gymkhana will be split into five divisions as described below.  An average time from the first two events of the day will determine the division placements. Qualifying times for divisions are listed below:

No time – 31.000 seconds - AA Division

31.001 – 40.000 seconds - A Division

40.001 – 55.000 seconds - B Division

55.001 and Higher - C Division

Lead line, In-Hand competitors and Driving competitors will be placed in divisions based on qualification times with riding competitors.

If a horse/rider combination consistently (2 or more events) has times that coincide with the division above them, they can be moved up into that division for all subsequent events in the year.

If a horse / rider team wins champion in the same slower division for two consecutive years, they may be placed in a faster division the following year.

The first two games will be the same at all Camp Marshall Gymkhanas to establish a fair baseline for qualifying for divisions every event. Once in a division, a horse & rider team will never be moved to a slower division during that competing year. A team can be moved to a faster division if they qualify as such at that event. Once moved up to a faster division, they will remain at that level or higher for the remainder of the competing year and start over accumulating points from zero. Any rider failing to compete in both qualifying games will automatically be in the fastest division.

All events are open to all riders who wish to participate.

6.2 Points when Division Changes

If a team moves to a faster division, the accumulated points remain tied to the slower division and the team starts over at zero in the new division.
