Camp Marshall Boarding Policies
Welcome to Camp Marshall’s Equestrian Center!
You, as a Rider, Boarder, Employee, Student, or just here for a visit, are asked to please follow our general rules.
Remember these rules are in place to provide the safest environment possible for you, your horse; or any feet or hooves that are on Camp Marshall’s property. If rules are not followed any of Camp Marshall's administration have the right to ask you to leave the property.
Boarding Policies

Please keep your designated barn area clean and free of debris.

If you turn on a light, please turn it off when you are done using that area.

Do not ride without a helmet.

If a guest will be riding or caring for your horse, please ensure they sign a waiver before mounting or coming to the property. Waivers are located in the entryway of the Wells Williams Indoor Arena in the gray cabinets. Please leave all completed waivers with a Camp staff member or in the camp office.

Please drive slowly through the barns and be careful of children, people, dogs and horses. The Camp Marshall Speed Limit Is 5 MPH throughout all barn, paddock and barn related areas (i.e. rings, indoor etc.)

Please do not touch, or feed, other people's horses without permission, unless in the event of an emergency. If an emergency occurs, notify a member of Camp staff or call the Camp Director. Staff phone numbers are posted throughout the property.

All horse(s) stalls must be cleaned a minimum of once per day. If your horse remains in all day, stalls need to be cleaned more than once per day.

Please clean your paddocks monthly as a minimum.

Please clean up after your horse in the indoor and in all aisle ways/cross tie and driveway areas.

If you must bring a dog or pet with you, please keep them leashed & under control at ALL times. Maximum allowed leash length is 6 feet.

There is no turn out allowed in the show rings or the indoor under any circumstances.

All trash and debris must be thrown away in the designated trash cans/dumpsters ONLY. No trash is allowed in any manure piles at any time. If throwing whole bales of hay into the manure pile, you must remove the baling twine prior to doing so. At no time is disposing of any outside trash of any kind allowed in Camp Marshall trash barrels or dumpsters.

During the winter, please bear in mind that we only have 1 indoor to share, lessons & rentals have first right to the ring during their scheduled times. The lesson & rental schedule will be posted on the White board. Ask permission from the Instructor or person renting the arena / ring prior to entering the ring with your horse and they reserve the right to ask you to leave if you and your horse become a safety concern.

At no time is lunging during lesson or rental times allowed.

Boarders are not permitted to use any of the Camp Marshall Equipment (i.e. Tractors, drags, trucks/other vehicles or golf carts).

All Grain, hay, tack and etc. is to be stored in the appropriate places (Hay in hay loft, tack in tack room etc.) at all times. Please ensure that all grain/supplements/treats etc. are stored properly and are not accessible to critters.

At no time should Boarders alter any tack rooms, paddocks or stalls etc. without prior written approval from the Camp Director.

Camp Marshall requires a select few vaccines and a negative Coggins test in order for your horse to be on property. A copy of all up to date vaccines and negative Coggins tests are required prior to your horse's arrival and must be submitted to the Barn Manager annually prior to the expiration date of the vaccines. Without proof of current vaccines or negative Coggins your horse will not be allowed to remain on the property and may be asked to leave without a 30 days’ notice.

If you are not the owner of any horse you are bringing on to Camp Marshall property, you must provide a signed lease agreement between you and the owner of said horse to the Camp Director prior to said horse's arrival. The Camp Director must have all contact information for owner including phone, email address, mailing address and an emergency contact. If you as the owner choose to lease your horse out to another person, Camp Marshall must have a Signed copy of the lease agreement between owner and leasee on file for each horse leased.

Camp Marshall requires all boarders to have a detailed list of care instructions for your horse including feeding, supplements, and any additional care required for daily maintenance needs. In the event of an emergency (personal, weather conditions etc.), Camp Marshall can provide the needed care to your horse until further arrangements can be made or until you can arrive safely at the facility.

All boarders are expected to follow the State mandated laws and regulations for all equines while on Camp Marshall property. These laws include but are not limited to: Providing adequate food and water at all times, horses may not be outside for more than 8 hours without adequate shelter, especially in extreme weather conditions. Our boarder paddock areas do not have "natural" shelter that meets the State laws/regulations. If you have questions about these laws, what you may or may not do, or about providing an adequate shelter, please contact the Camp Director for clarification. Boarders will not install shelters etc. without written prior approval from the Camp Director.

All boarders are required to submit a CORI/SORI form in order to be on Camp Property due to the children & programs on site. This is required by our ACA accreditations at all times. These forms must be completed in person with the Camp Director prior to the horse’s arrival.

At any time, a current boarder may bring in an outside Riding Instructor to provide a lesson to said border(s). PRIOR to Riding Instructor coming to Camp Marshall, the Camp Director must be presented with a copy of their Massachusetts Riding Instructors License (Must be up to date), a copy of their insurance policy for teaching. All arena times for lessons / instructors MUST be scheduled with the Camp Director & Barn Manager at least 48 hours in advance.
